FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE MARCH 20, 2019
New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) in collaboration with American Express is hosting a nine-month long Emerging Leaders Boot Camp, to prepare upcoming leaders of major arts institutions with support as they identify next steps to grow their leadership. NYFA — a nonprofit service organization that provides the concrete resources that working artists and emerging arts organizations need to thrive – has engaged Meryl Moritz, Chief Coaching Officer of Meryl Moritz Resources LLC to work intensively with 17 upcoming leaders from museums, festivals, dance companies, etc. Moritz has a 25 year background coaching leaders and their teams and is a trusted resource of NYFA, which has used Moritz to coach its own leadership team.
Director of NYFA Learning Felicity Hogan says of the Bootcamp experience, “NYFA’s Emerging Leaders Boot Camp is a free leadership development program for arts administrators from all disciplines within commuting distance to New York City. The nine-month program includes five full-day intensives, check-ins, individual consultations, and a two-day final session. NYFA is pleased to announce the fifth session of Emerging Leaders Boot Camp, which will train up to 25 arts administrators in the principles of leadership. The core objective of the program is to provide participants with skills that will assist them in their current roles in order to be more effective within their own organizations, as well as develop training that will help them to assume more executive roles in the future. Since its inception, more than 100 arts administrators have participated in the program, coming from a diverse range of arts organizations serving a wide variety of disciplines and constituents.”
